Welcome 2026 - What are Your Intentions This Year

When a New Year begins there is a large sense of renewal in people's lives and a desire to set new goals, whereby we give ourselves permission to let go of old habits that no longer serve us, enabling us to have a fresh start. We can achieve this by mindfully setting new intentions. But how do we go about doing this? For some people, it is easy they set strategic plans and steps to achieve what they set their minds to, and they are ready and prepared to let go of the past and what is holding them back, but for others it can be challenging to let go of hurts, setbacks and traumas. It can be difficult when we remain stuck in a closed loop circle in the past, which makes it challenging to set new intentions and goals and move forward. Practicing Zen Meditation is a wonderful holistic way to set new intentions when we commence a new year or at any time of the year. It involves meditating on the now moment, where we fully focus on the present, not the past or the future. This allows us to feel into feeling in control, capable, joyous and able to consciously be in the present moment, letting go of our subconscious thoughts that tend to create a negative dialogue of our past circumstances. Try sitting in a park, or somewhere peaceful and quiet, breathe and be mindful of being in the present moment, what do you see, what are you feeling, how does the air feel on your skin, what noises can you hear in nature, how is your breath, is it steady and flowing, what are you grateful for, be mindful of your thoughts and everything around you, in this state new wisdom is available allowing our minds to create a new sense of being.
